Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series Returns to Action

Get ready for the sound of engines roaring and the smell of burning rubber, because the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series is back for its 37th season at Scotia Speedworld! The season opener will take place on Sunday, May 19th, with gates opening at 12:00 pm and racing action kicking off at 2:00 pm. Fans can look forward to an exciting afternoon of races featuring all Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series divisions, who are set to take on a brand-new season.

Anticipation is high for the 2024 edition of the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series. Well over 100 entries have been received prior to the season starting, a mark that is up over 20% from previous years. While all drivers registered will not compete full time, fields in each of the five Weekly Racing Series divisions are expected to be strong on Sunday.

Of note, four of the 2023 track champions have either moved divisions or are scaling back to compete part-time this season, opening the door for new champions in at least three classes in 2024. Only Ross Moore (Lake Egmont) remains to defend his Toursec Mini Stock crown he raced to in 2023. Bristol Matthews (Nine Mile River) will move to the Bluenose Pools Bandolero division. Gage Gilby (Enfield) has graduated to the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour from the Strictly Hydraulics Legends division with Daniel Vandenburg (Lower Onslow) moving from the Bandoleros to Legends in 2024. Jesse Deveau (Harmony) will compete part-time in the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman class.

After a long winter, the adjustments made to race cars and drivers in new divisions will be put to the test. Rivalries will be renewed, and new ones are sure to blossom. Who will strike first and capture the first checkered flags of 2024?!

Tickets for the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series Season Opener are $20.00 for adults, $5.00 for youth (8-15), children 7 and under are FREE! All season at Scotia Speedworld. Tickets available at the gates on race day only.
